New date for AAA clinical skills trainer event

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: NHS Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Programme

The NHS Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening Programme has announced the new date for its clinical skills trainer networking day.

The re-scheduled event will take place on Friday 27 April 2018 and will be held in central London from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

Register online for this event. We will then send you details of the venue.

We're asking that all AAA screening programme co-ordinators ensure their clinical skills trainers are aware of the new date.

AAA screening is a way of checking if there's a bulge or swelling in the aorta

Clinical skills trainers play an essential role in assuring the quality of local programmes and helping to ensure issues are identified and addressed.

The day will help us to better understand the key challenges being faced by staff and discuss potential solutions. It will also include information on:

  • the national AAA screening programme
  • the diploma and available resources
  • re-accreditation for your technicians

It would be really useful if clinical skills trainers bring examples of good practice to try to meet the challenges in delivering the service.

Please note, refreshments will be available from 10am and lunch will be provided.

We look forward to seeing you in London.
