The PHE sickle cell and thalassaemia (SCT) screening team is pleased to announce a new date for the very popular specialist counsellor update course – 8 December 2021.
The course is delivered by King’s College London, funded by the national SCT screening programme team and is free to attend.
It is aimed at those who:
- have already completed the Genetic risk assessment and counselling module or the PEGASUS course, and
- are responsible for counselling women and couples at risk of having an affected baby as part of the NHS SCT Screening Programme – this includes the offer of prenatal diagnosis and/or giving results to parent(s) who have given birth to an affected child
