Programme Manager – NHS Newborn Hearing Screening Programme
Jane works as the Programme Manager of the NHS Newborn Hearing Screening Programme (NHSP). Jane’s background is nursing and midwifery, in which she has worked in a range of areas and specialties (including some years as a Nursing Officer in the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service). Jane’s interest in screening began in 1996 when working as an Antenatal Screening Specialist Midwife in Essex. In 2001 she became the Regional Antenatal & Child Health Screening Coordinator in the East of England, a post she held until moving into Public Health England in March 2013.
Outside of work, Jane enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, in the New Forest where she lives. She and her husband enjoy ballroom dancing and much to her husband’s dismay have gained more medals for that than he has for golf!
