Latest KPI and standards submission guidance

Jo is PHE’s data and information manager for the diabetic eye and abdominal aortic aneurysm screening programmes

We’ve updated our guidance on submitting key performance indicators (KPIs) for 2 screening programmes.

The new information relates to the quarterly and annual pathway standard data for the NHS abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) programme and NHS diabetic eye screening (DES) programme and is for providers.

The latest version has the submission, validation and publication dates for 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019.

For AAA screening services we cover the sign off process for KPIs, quarterly waiting times reports, quarterly pathway standards reports and annual pathway standards.

For DES screening services we cover the process for submitting and signing off KPIs, quarterly pathway standards reports and annual pathway standards.

Screening commissioners should be aware of the review and publication dates so that programme board meetings can be arranged appropriately.

Bye bye PDF, hello HTML

We review our guidance each year. The biggest change this year is that for the first time we’re publishing the guidance in HTML format instead of PDF.

We’ve previously blogged about the benefits of HTML web pages and how you can navigate through an HTML document.

We hope our new HTML format will make it easier for you to find the information you need.

Services are also recommended to read the KPI definitions and the AAA and DES pathway standards definitions.
